A combined team of security agents from the Lagos State Police Command, the State Security Service and the military, raided a suspected criminal hideout at Oluwole Garage, Lagos State on Saturday, arresting no fewer than 104 people.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the suspects were arrested for constituting a nuisance in the area.
Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, confirmed the raid.
She told told our correspondent on the telephone that the suspects had been handed over to the Lagos State Taskforce on Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit for necessary action.
She said, “On Saturday, around 5pm, policemen along with the military and SSS carried out a joint raid of criminals’ hideout at Oluwole Garage, Lagos Island. We arrested 104 male suspects for constituting a nuisance.
“They have been handed over to the taskf orce for further action.”
Meanwhile, the police also recovered a Yahama flying boat engine and 1000 litres of petrol abandoned by pipeline vandals in Magodo, Isheri area of the state.
Braide said the matter was still under investigation.
